From doing some research, it appears to be a large termite mound that is high up in a tree. seems unusual for it to be off the ground like that. Perhaps its a way for the termites to avoid predation from other animals on the forest floor. Am I right? :) HP per.5
Is it possible that it is a mass of tree fungi that has adapted to growing on bark and that it is emitting a pheromone that spectators inhale which in turn makes them not realize what it is? Did you ever find out what it was?
Is that a sloth, Ms. Stephens? Or is it two sloths? It seems very big! What do sloths usually eat? I hope you're having a good time :) We miss you here. -JB, Period 5

I'm going to take a guess and say Giant Man-Eating Spider nest.... I mean it's the only logical hypothesis.

That is a rather large bee hive, or a really big sloth. One of the two. Actually it might be some kind of growth from the tree.

What type of symbiotic rationship(mutualism, commensalism or parasitism) does the thing and the tree have?
ReplyDelete-KAS Period 3
That looks like some sort of bug nest (perhaps for bees or termites). However i've never seen a bug home in a tree so big before.
